Jilibean Reinstated: What are the laws regarding paying employees on the agreed upon date?
Is there any recourse if you are not paid on time by an employer. Say, if your direct deposit comes late, etc? Does that vary by state? Or are there even any laws about this at all?

Nope. An employer is allowed to be late, on paychecks due to unforeseen circumstances. Up to 30 days in most states. Circumstances, like technical difficulties, bank direct deposits not going through, etc are circumstances that can cause checks to be late, or deposited late.
contact your states Department of Labor.
Answer by ஐSillyGirlஐIt must vary from state to state…because in California …yes there is a daily monetary penalty for late wage payments.
I would check with the Labor Board for your state…because here it’s $ 100 bucks a day paid to the employee for every day that the earned owed pay is late.
Of course…I wouldn’t pursue it, unless it was a reoccurring problem..
