What are the exams called that you take to become a nurse?

Alex K: What are the exams called that you take to become a nurse?
I heard they were called T’s, or Tee’s, or something like that. I want to know what these exams are called – I don’t mean pre-entrance exam, I’m talking about the exam to take to BECOME a nurse….after the nursing program. If you fail this test, you can’t go into the field until you pass it. Know what it’s called or anything about it?
