Jo: What are some good summer dance intensives for beginners?
I’d love to go to a dance intensive over the summer but I’ve just started ballet this year, I’ve been doing it about 5 months. I’ve been looking but most require at least two years of dance or being en pointe. Are there any that do not require this that you would recommend? Thanks!

Well these are for all levels which basically all dance schools offer a beginner class.
These all require an audition but if you make it that would be great!
Pasadena Dance Theater: Includes a beginner class in ballet, character, tap, modern, jazz and more. Also includes some pilates and yoga sessions.
Anaheim Dance Theatre: This is an over night summer intensive. Includes an everyday class in ballet, pilates, yoga, etc. Includes occasional seminars in ballet and if you bring money, chances to go to disney land and or/ the movies, etc. You will be living with 3 other girls/boys in a dorm with prepared meals.
The Royal Ballet School: Famous for its strictness and theatre. Locaded in Richmond Park, London, England. Includes a beginner class in ballet, character, tap, modern, jazz and more. Is not over night.
The first 2 are in California. Like I said they all require auditions and are also slightly expensive.
Best of Luck and Have fun!

Until you build up some more technique, you should look for one at a local studio. Ask at your studio if they know of a place that has summer classes.
