Smiles: Dancing??????????????????
So.. I have about six years experience of ballet dancing. I havent been in it for about a year and a half though because of my studio shutting down… I want to get back into dancing but i want to try something new, such as the type of dancing that Jersey done on dancelife.. not exactly hip hop.. like hardcore like in stomp the yard.. but sort of something that has a little bit of ballet steps, but with music and the beat of hip hop.. Can you help me decide what type of dance genre this is.. and classes that i could take to learn this.. and any other important details you could tell me.
I Think The Genre Is Alternative.. If So Could you give me some details about this genre as well

I don’t think that they make classes for that style of dancing. Best of luck.

I love to dance, and I know exactly what you’re talking about. I would keep going with the ballet, as it is the foundation of all dance, but I think you should take up Contemporary. Contemporary dance is characterised by its versatility: contemporary can be danced to almost any style of music, or united with other dance forms to create new styles of movement. Contemporary seeks to work with the natural alignment of the body, and is based on balletic movements, and is therefore safe and accessible for beginners. At the same time, the ease of movement promoted by contemporary dance technique allows experienced dancers to push new boundaries of body movement.Answer by Volleyballchick13
I know what you mean, I have danced for 12 years but I had to stop because of feet problems from my pointe shoes so, like you I stopped dancing for like a year and a half and when I went back it was just not the same! I felt like it was not going to get better and it was just the samething over and over, and so what I do now is Contemporary hip-hop but, I also take Ballroom lessons like,Salsa,Mambo,Quickstep and the Waltz and to me I feel like I am still getting the same workout but I also feel like because they are all really different styles I am learning more and I don’t have that feeling like it’s always fun and I am always learning something new. So what I think you are looking for is like a latin meets slow hip-hop and so if I was you I would look into Ballrom lessons.
So I really hope this answers your questions or helps you a little and if you have any questions e-mail me anytime
