I am trying to write a persuasive speech on why someone should get a tattoo or a piercing.

a tattoo usually has a meaning like if a loved one passed away, a symbol that motivates you, etc.

piercing are a fashion statement. tattoos can be as well.

A person should never be subjected to get either, for one. However tattoos/piercings are expressions of our God-given right to do what we want to our blank canvases. People will usually modify their bodies with these type of adornments for the purpose of becoming a sheep, but others might say its because they like them and have the freedom to do it. And there could be stories behind these alterations to symbolize personal strife, changes, etc. Personally, I do it for the same reason anybody decorates/styles anything. I think they’re appealing and eye-catching, so I get them.

Well, no one should be convincing anyone of getting a tattoo, so I don’t know how effective my information will be. All tattoos are one’s own personal choice, whether it be good or bad. To write a speech about why someone should get a tattoo or piercing is implying that it will under all circumstances change your life for the better, which they most definately will not. Not saying I’m against them, i have 9 tattoos and 11 piercings, just that there is no real BENEFIT towards them other than the fact that they are what I wanted, so I got the. As for any websites, I highly doubt there are any state reasons FOR tattoos or piercings (but probably so many against them), as there is no real reason as to WHY you should get a tattoo.

The only reason you should(and probably will) get a tattoo is if you are going through radiation therapy.
Otherwise, it’s because you want to. Personal choice.

piercings are purely for fashion, to create your body image.
Tattoos should be incredibly meaning full.. for example you might wanna symbolize your victory over cancer, an image to represent your past struggles etc. you wont regret them as 40 years down the line you can look at it and remember your achievements
