: If I wanted to make a “how to” video with my friends in a public park could I get in trouble?
I would not be destroying public property, filming people outside of my friends, obstructing traffic, or pissing of the police in any way at all. However I do not have a “city permit”? to film in a public park.. Is this relevant to what type of video recording I would be doing?

Aslong as you do it at such a time that you won’t be catching anybody else on camera, or that they know you are filming. Sometimes people get mad (and I don’t know why) that they are on camera and then on the internet. But really, you should be fine.
I don’t see how filming a video in a park is any different from filming your kids playing in the park. If what you are doing is not obstructing anyone else’s enjoyment of the park, why would you need a permit? (This presumes that Big Brother hasn’t already taken control of everything yet.)Answer by Michael J
You probably would need a permit — or at least a talk with a park official — if you plan on using this video for commercial gain in any way. Otherwise, you should be OK.
