Will pet turtles adjust to living in a pond in winter?

: Will pet turtles living in a tank adjust to living in a pond during the winter months?
I have 6 pet turtles who are out growing their tank.They also have been feed everyday. Would like to put them in a pond.Will they adjust to the winter months and not fed everyday?

NO , if you keep them in an unheated pond in winter they will hibernate and most likely die ..

if you need to keep them in a pond in winter then you will need to buy heaters , and you will need to buy very high wattages to keep the heat up

Releasing turtles is not only illegal, it is a very bad idea. If you can’t afford the space, money, or time for a larger tank, find someone to adopt the turtles. Your best bet is to work through your local herp society. https://anapsid.com has a list.
