OHLALA: the computer says that it stops the usb, but it doesn’t really?
i don’t know what is wrong with my x61. It can read the usb devices, but can’t remove them. So when I plug my flashdrive to the computer, the red light will go on, and the x61 tablet recognizes it. However, when i try to remove it by using the “safely remove hardware” icon, the computer says that “the device is now can be removed safely”, but actually it can’t. The red light is still on, and it is still connected to the computer even though when i go to “my computer”, the usb is not there anymore. This happens to all other usb devices that I plug into the x61 like my DVD player. Please help! What is the problem here and how can I fix it?
the thing is that when I replug the usb the next time when I use it, a message about “unproper removal” appears saying something about “you didn’t remove the device properly the last time you use it. This might cause incorrect data something something” so I’m afraid that it will kill my flashdrive if I keep doing this, even worse it might kill my DVD player 🙁

there is no problyem thats how they are if it says that you can remove it then you can the fact that the light is on dosnt matter
Maybe the red light means that there is power going to it, call me dumb but i thought that safely removing the hardware only stops comunications between the two devices.Answer by dewcoons
I have not worked with an x61, but with most devices all the “safe to remove” means is that an data waiting to be transferred between the computer and device are done, and all files are closed so that the device can be removed without losing any data. It does NOT mean that the device is turned off.Answer by Tech Guy
does not sound like theres a problem like the other comments say it almost certanly just means theres still power going to it.
And to be honest the safetly remove hardware thing is a waste of time. never used it never had any problems:)
