Can’t help themselves…….
If you’re making 500 per week, they don’t want to raise YOUR taxes.Answer by howdigethere
Take from the rich, or so they claim. Bush enacted a tax cut for capitol gains. Most people think that means ‘the rich’. The Dems want to resend that tax cut. So, that is the tax increase they are talking about – at least for now.
Truth is, anyone who is saving for college and retirement or just because it is the very smart thing to do, will be affected by this tax. So, even those of us who are considered upper or lower middle class will be nailed by this tax ‘roll back’.Answer by dluv1126
First of all, they do not want to raise taxes. The budget which has the most steam in Congress right now does not include a tax hike. It simply allows for Bush’s tax breaks to expire thus producing more revenue. The tax rate will go back to where it was when Clinton was in office. Besides, compared with the rest of the civilized world, we here in America enjoy small amounts of taxes for the amount of social programs our government subsidizes.
In England, the average wage tax amounts to about 1/3 of their total income. That means that if you were making $ 500 a week, you would pay $ 166 in taxes. And the one major thing they get in return that we don’t have is health care. In Sweden, the tax rate approaches 60%. So paying 20% of your income in taxes doesn’t seem so bad does it.
BTW, the next time you are driving down the road (if you drive yet considering your age), pay attention to the police, the roads you are on, the school you go to, the people that work there, the traffic signals and the people who work to maintain them, the utilities you use, the hospital where you were born along with the staff that works there, and most things around you. All these things acquire some type of financial support from government sponsored subsidies. And if that many things are being either totally funded or partially funded by the government, then someone has got to pay for it. I am sure your parents have told “Money doesn’t grow on trees.” That saying hold true for the government too.
I hate taxes too, but when you look at the whole picture, taxes are just as important to our country as voting. It is a necessary sacrifice for us to enjoy the life we lead.
Answer by ilovejoshuaaWell, that 100 just went to building roads, hospitals, armor for the military.. etc.
our governments income is from people’s taxes.. it sucks seeing that money gone from your check, but it’s worth it.. especially with the deficit we have now.
and just so you know, most democrats also try to raise minimum wage.
