blaaah35: tattoo faded after going in the pool?
i got my tattoo a year and a half ago and before i got it done i asked the tattooer if i would be able to go in to a chlorinated pool because i was on a swimming team. he said it would be fine so i did. i noticed that it has faded a lot and it happened really quick, like right after i got it done. im just wondering if this is because of the chlorine or because the tattooer did a crappy job?

Your tattoo artist is a dumbass. You’re not supposed to swim for a few weeks after getting a tattoo.
you should not submerge a brand new tattoo in water!! i suggest you get the tattoo topped up, then use waterproof bandages when you swim and make sure that any chemical it gets into contact with is rinsed off completely. you should also be using sunblock on it whenever it isn’t covered up. i don’t know why tattoo artists dont tell people this stuff:(Answer by Scifichic92
you are not supposed to go into a pool or hotub for at LEAST ten days after getting a tattoo, and keep it away from sunlight. I would go back and b*itch you didn’t know thats the tattooers fault!Answer by John Nickle
Most likely faded from you going in the pool. Shouldn’t have done that.
I use Rocco’s Old School Tattoo Balm on all my old and new tattoo’s.
Heals mine a lot faster than the tradition lotion/ointment.
It also makes my older faded tattoo’s look new and fresh.
