weak minded. can’t think for themselves. Need a crutch. Want an afterlife, cant handle the truth. Pick one of the above.
the only thing closest to a man made religion in the bible are the pharisees…and we all know how that went. i dont know why people would want to brand themselvesAnswer by Mulereiner #
People have made their own gods and faiths that were not what Jesus intended when He said what the church is to be.
So inturn, they do things in Jesus’s name that weren’t His idea to begin with.

I think the reason is related to anxiety about life and death. Fear of the unknown is obviously a factor. Nobody knows why we are here and as profound as the experience is, it is only temporary.Answer by starschonpsevolve
Religion answers questions for the poorly educated, brainwashed, and the scientifically illiterate..
The higher you look in acedemia, the less people believe in a god or gods..
In the highest circles of science acedemia, only 1 or 2 percent would consider the possibility of “some form” of causality. This is almost the opposite to insular religious communities who are scientifically illiterate..
Quite simple really..

You need to first separate organized religion with just religion. OR (As i’ll call it) is like the Catholic church, where some governing body decides what this part in the bible means and what their followers should beleive.
Religion is someone who follows a God, and has a label more defined than spiritual, like Sikhism. There isn’t really anybody to tell you what this passage means etc.
Spiritual is when you know there is more to this world, but beyond that, is what whatever you want it to be.
Religion has only caused wars because of what their rulers think is going on way on the other side of the world. In the time of the Crusades, the condition of the middle east was just an opinion to the Pope or the King or whoever. It was mostly caused by misunderstanding, and lack of knowledge of other religions.
belief in God or whatever religion is, does not go hand in hand with waging Holy War. If it did, this board would be a lot more violent.
People have a religion because they believe in something higher than themselves. It’s a way of life to some, a view of god to others.
Answer by TerryMy problem with your question is just the lack of a single word. That word is “Organized.” Everyone should have a religion, but no one should be subjected to hierarchy and politics of an organized religion. It is not the people with religious beliefs that start wars or condemn others out of hand. It is the hierarchy of organized religions that demand such behavior from those that *belong* to them.Answer by im~a~hottie123
because they like to be diff. idk
