Diego: Recent tattoo and amusement park water rides?
I just got a tattoo yesterday (Sunday) and my family and I are planning on going to an amusement park (Cedar Point) this Saturday. I was wondering if I could go on the water rides, since I will have only had my tattoo for a week by then? Would it be dangerous? If I brought alcohol wipes to wipe the tattooed area off after each ride, would it be more safe then? The tattoo is very small on my wrist, please let me know! Thanks!

Nope, you should have thought about this before getting tattooed.
No swimming or sun exposure for your tattoo for a month (and always use sun screen on your tattoo if it will be exposed after that month is up). A tattoo is basically the same as having an open wound, and it takes roughly a month for it to heal.
And alcohol wipes have to be the worst idea I have ever heard, keep those far away from your tattoo.
you cant have your tattoo submerged in water for a few weeks, so if its just going to get a little splash i guess that could be OK- but I’d definitely avoid it, the tattoo is going t be on you for life, try and look after it.
and alcohol wipes! noooooo. u shouldn’t be using them. you should be gently washing your tattoo in the shower and then applying whatever cream it is the tattooist recommended. i personally think bepanthen is the best for tattoos.Answer by AngelWingsRinoa77
It’s not a very good idea to go on water rides. Having it soaked in water is a bad idea, a shower is one thing, u can take a shower with it but, as for a water ride, well not the best idea.Answer by brown eyed girl

you really should have thot about that before you got the tat. for one, its bad for the healing process for your tat to be soaked in water like that. for two, there is so much bateria in that water, plus the chlorine, that can cause infection. third, no alcohol wipes cuz they’ll only dry it out. and finally, the sun exposure is also very bad. however, i know you are only going to go anyways so to help you save your tat, try wrapping your wrist with plastic wrap before each ride and then remove it afterwards. this can be a pain but the rides are long so you’ll have time. and then try to wash it with soap as much as possible and apply lotion. thats the best you can do i think…Answer by Kelz
no. it is definately not okay. and do NOT use alcohol wipes! you should not go in water (pool or even a bath), the sun, etc….you must give it time to heal. make sure and follow the after care instructions!!!! best of luck! but, looks like you might be missing the amusement park.Answer by indie_dude80
Only if you want to risk ruining the tattoo. Is it really worth that?
But you should be okay on the coasters as long as you cover it with a bandage and maybe one of those Nike or Adidas wrist bands they sell at Dick’s for about $ 6.00.
By the way, Top Thrill Dragster kicks @$ $ !
