Mary: How do you “un-protect” a memory card for a camera?
My camera won’t let me delete pictures saved on the memory card, but it also won’t let me take any more pictures. I know that my card is not full, I just don’t know how to make it so it does not say “protected card” anymore and I’ve tried going through the menu and settings and all on the camera, I cannot figure it out. Help! 😀

There is a plastic slider on the edge of the memory card, and it may be in “LOCK” position. Slide it away from “LOCK”
Actually not being able to delete individual image files is a good thing.
This is the top reason, memory cards become corrupt; filling a card and then deleting image files to make room for more.
Here is how the workflow is supposed to work.
You start with two memory cards and format both of them
* Shoot your images and if you run out of space, use the second card.
* As soon as possible, copy all the images to your computer.
* Make sure all have been successfully been sent to your computer
* Format the card.
Using the above process, you will avoid most of the problems many camera uses have with digital cameras and the memory cards used in them
There are two ways to protect SD cards. One is the little switch on the side of the card, lock/unlock or using the cameras option to protect individual images. What this does is make the image file a “read-only” file
Answer by The Silence Of My HeartOn the SD card there is like a white thing on the side if its down push it up and if up push it down that works since that is the thing that blocksthing from being saved on it
