sara_p_14: I need to transfer a video from “tape” to “card” on a video camera. How do I do that?
I have a Canon ZR65 MC. I recorded a video for my speech class on the tape. I connected the camcorder to the computer, and it didn’t pick up anything. I switched the camcorder to “card” and the computer found the device. How do I transfer the video to the card?

the card is the sd card you have in there for pictures only , the dv tape is what you will need to use to transfer the video to your computer to then transfer them to your card (providing capacity allows this) you will need to connect the cable that came with a camera small dv connection ,and the bigger end to your computer , transfer using windows movie maker or ivideo (mac) then reconnect your camera and when the card is recognised as a removable disk , then transfer the digital video transfer to it.
The card is for pictures. Minidv requires a firewire connection, so your pc needs a firewire card. Most computers do not come with a firewire card, your camera did not come with a firewire cord you will have to buy both.Answer by Joe Cody
