MURF: Please critique the following post job interview “thank you” letter for me?
I’m having a little trouble with my words.. kind of a mental block. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.
Dear Tom,
It was great meeting you this past Thursday. I appreciate the time you took out to interview me for the Office Manager position at *******. Your extensive and detailed description of the company, as well as the daily tasks and supervisory responsibilities of the job has without a doubt confirmed my desire to be a part of your successful team.
I truly believe this position is perfect for me; not only for the job itself, but the office atmosphere and the company’s philosophy of exceptional customer service is exactly what I am looking for.
I look forward to hearing from you, and in the interim I’m continuing research the industry as well as the company itself.
Sincerely,
*****

the last paragraph…i’m continuing “to” research…not i’m continuing research….
otherwise looks great that I can see. very professional. Maybe restate your contact information.
Answer by EmmyIt’s excellent!!
Just a few tips though:
1. Put it in business letter form.
2. Sign your name in a space above where it is printed.
Good luck!!Answer by Nilay
Overall it looks good.
But how about presenting the second paragraph as “How you
can be perfect for the Job” Vs “How the job is perfect for you”.
You probably will write the same reasons but if you present them as “What you can offer to the company” it will be more useful for the Manager to select you.
Normally the Hiring Manager is interested in knowing how the
new Hire will deliver more then what he/she is suppose to and
presenting “How the Job Fits you” will demonstrate your abilities to Understand the Job Requirements clearly and will present a “Can Do” attitude.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.
