Switches hurt worse because they are thinner, harder, and usually have small branches with leaves. But my mom was the one to cut those and I also got hit with a belt. She never used her hand, though. I spank my kids with my hand.

I’m still a teen but I’ll say this anyway- spanking doesn’t help. At least not for me. And a belt is for wearing, as is a switch to a branch. You’re hand is for fending off dangers and holding others, not to be raised against a mere child.

It’s just… hitting doesn’t help… it landed my parents in jail and me in a foster home. Nothing good comes out of it and the kids I know who DO get spanked are just either opposed to it or have something against it… don’t hit your kids, even if you only consider it a “tiny smack”… it can and possibly will become more. In my opinion, it can lead to too many awful things like physical, mental and above all, sexual abuse. Sorry for the long answer.
