sott1987: my parents got a new house and rented out the old house to me and a friend of the family.
my roommate skipped out and hasnt paid for 2 months so they evicted her.on sat my mom says we need you to move out this week and move back home and pay the same amount rent. im in the shower today and i hear voices outside the bathroom. my dad is there showing the house to a family and i am stuck upstairs in the bathroom for an hour because their are strangers down stairs. can they do this stuff?
dumb question. what is a registered doc.? i thought thats what a lease was? i understand them renting it out to other people but like my dad would come by even when she still paid rent around 7 in the morning on sat without telling us and paint the inside of the garage and get paint all over my computer monitors and car. i thought they need to give you like 24 hrs notice that they are doing something or coming over?
they didnt give me 30 days they gave me 7. thats the issue. its like why am i paying to have no privacy? they expect me to drop everything in a week and move when i have jobs to go to all week. i understand they need me to get out to rent to others but i feel like i am getting taken advantage of. they wouldnt treat a stranger like this because they would sue.

Unless you signed a registered lease then yes.
If there is no legal documents on paper then yes they can.
If you wanted to stay there, then you should have asked your parents for legal documents on paper otherwise… they have every right to do this to you unfortunately.
Answer by Expert RealtorHere is a very easy answer to your question:
Your parents own, you rent. All they have to do is give you a 30-day notice to get out.
If you want to destroy the relationship with your parents, then tell them they have to give you a 24 hour notice anytime they want to be on the property.
If they violate that, technically you could have them arrested for breaking and entering. But the question is, do you really want to do that?
Answer by Ed AtunYou do have a whole list of “protections” that the law give you for your privacy. You could really make life difficult for Dad. He has to give you 48 hour written notice before every single “showing”. I am a landlord. Tell Dad that you have gotten good advice and you now know your rights and plan to enforce them. He will know you are serious.
The library has the Landlord Tenant Act. Very easy to read. /Answer by Doctor Deth
if you don’t like it, move out and get your own place
