C.S.: Marriage Licenses invented to prevent interracial unions, why do we allow the same discrimination to persist?
With this history of marriage licenses being used to prevent interracial marriages, why do we allow the same discourse and type of discrimination to persist? Will opponents today be judged like the racial purity folks of the past? Isn’t this why we should always error on the side of individual freedom in personal affairs?

So, you’re saying that we should allow brothers and sisters to marry? Because, among other things, the marriage licensing laws currently prohibit incestuous marriage.

Marriage licenses were invented to get more money out of us, that’s the main reason—they license everything that moves and everything that doesn’t. Same with taxes.
However, marriage license were used at times to prevent interracial marriages, and also others from getting married.
This is somewhat of a dead issue, as interracial relationships and marriage are widely accepted today, but there are some people who will never change, and don’t approve of it.
I guess that they’ll just have to deal with it.
