Tina: Is this a gut feeling/instinct and what should I do?
So I go to Barnes and Noble a lot, especially near the new age section (I’m a spiritual type of person) and all of a sudden I couldn’t help but feel a little weird, like a knot twisted in my stomach. Then about a minute later, this girl was walking very weirdly around the area, and she even looked weird; (obviously dyed) black hair, guy-ish tank top, baggy pants, no make-up, and wore a few necklaces with strange symbols on them. I started feeling weird/bad vibes from her so I moved further away. Then she came back and said, “Good book, huh?” and I said, “Uh…yeah but haven’t read it all.” She then came over to me and said hi and started talking to me. She seemed nice until she said, “Hey we should hang out some time. Wanna come over tomorrow? I like cooking for people all the time and I’m trying out this new recipe.” That’s when it felt like somebody kicked me in the stomach! I literally almost fell forward and two people looked at me funny lol. I then thought to myself, don’t put to much into it…maybe she’s being nice. But then she kept bringing it up. Then this lady, who was about in her 40s with scraggly light brown hair walked over and the girl said, “Oh hi mom,” but it sounded staged, you know like a bad play that you see. Then the girl turned to me said that she was making up her own religion called Humanism and I said, “Oh well that’s nice”. I then said that I had to run and she said, “Oh ok, it was nice meeting you.” Then I said, “Yeah bye!” but I really wanted to say, “Yeah whatever!” I told my mom and later on, she went to the bookstore and saw the same girl! I could tell because she described her to me and I said, “Yeah that’s definitely her,” and the my mom said, “I got bad vibes from her too. I think she prays on people over there. She mentioned to these two complete strangers that she should come over to her house to try out her ‘new recipe’.” Weird!
Advice?
*preys, not prays lol.

It is weird. You have good instincts. I get the same feelings around some people sometimes, and have all my life. I have always trusted my gut and it has served me well. This is where the saying “trust your instincts” comes from.
There are strange people out there.
