Jacques: Is there any way of taking testosterone without clitoral growth?
I am an ftm gender-queer who is heavily considering transitioning. I think that all of the effects of testosterone would make me more comfortable with myself, with the exception of clitoral growth. Is there any way this effect can be reduced or removed?

maybe if you take a low dose, but i dont know for sure! and no you would have to get it surgically hidden.
You can’t pick and choose, you should know that if you have seriously looked into testosterone therapy.
That sort of growth is on a case by case basis, but you really don’t have to worry because no doctor is going to give T to someone who doesn’t at least appear to want to transition into a functional male role (no room for genderqueers yet, sad to say).
That might sound harsh, but that’s pretty much the straight facts on gaining access to testosterone. I mean, sure you could go on T and later have a surgery to reduce the size of your package (I have heard of horror stories where doctors mess around with young girls clitorises because they are ‘too large’) but why go through that pain when you have yourself a sweet deal going on down there?
Answer by smart is sexyNo, one of the first side effects of testosterone is clitoral growth. It happens within the first week for most guys. You need to be comfortable with all effects of T before taking it. It’s a part of informed consent for medical treatment. No responsible doctor should prescribe hormones without full understanding and consent.
There are other side effects of T that will not be pleasant. My boyfriend didn’t want butt hair, but he got it anyway and lives with it as a result of T. You have to take the good with the bad.
