brubob0811: Is there a word that best captures the ultimate expression of “love” in human experience?
I’ve seen words like “Agape” – but I thought there were other words that might express in some language the supreme love experience (be it between spouses, children / parents, or God / humanity). Any thoughts?

There is an immense difference between loving and being in love. With respect to being in love, I offer “captivated” – not only in the sense of being engrossed but also in the sense of being imprisoned.
passion is the ultimate expression of love whether it is for a person or a talent or some other experiential event that totally commands one senses and one’s intellect.
other words to describe ultimate love include:
bliss rapture ecstasy
paradise heaven
agape, which has its roots in the word for a christian feast, generally is taken to mean a love for humankind, brotherly love so to speak.
(You will notice that all these words are also used to define an intense religious experience.)

It’s hard to sum up all the different aspects of love in one word (that isn’t “love”). “Devotion” is fairly encompassing.
