vital_moors: Is it possible to built a society based on loving-kindness and compassion?
All people have in the ground the same thing they want to reach: they want to find real, deep happiness.
The ways to reach this goal are different.
The current capitalist worldvision is based on power, selfisch interest and war. War between concurrents in economy. This is a model of battle.
But is it possible to built a society that is based on harmony, loving-kindness and compassion.

I don’t think so, because such a society would be subject to too many variables, based on what constitutes loving, kindness and compassion for each person (that is, even if there were a way to eliminate outbursts of anger or frustration).
As for selfishness, there are those who would argue that pursuing such a model denies the expression of liberty, which can be considered “selfish,” in a literal sense.

No. We live in a world of opposite polarities. Each polarity must exist because one cannot exist by itself. War can only exist if peace exists and kindness can only exist with unkindness present.
If you want to eliminate unkindness, kindness too has to go.
Compassion is ultimately an emotion that places the other in a lesser situation than ourselves. When we feel compassion we are sorry for someone’s misfortune and suffering.
If you want to eliminate negative feelings, compassion has to go because it incites negativity. The emotion that doesn’t demean another person is respect not compassion.
