La Bella Senorita: Is ballet a Delicate form of Dance and exercise?
Is ballet a Delicate form of Dance and exercise?
I know it puts a lot of pressure on the knees but the muscles and joints are conditioned slowly and gently.
Unlike other sports, like figure skating, gymnastics and synchronised swimming, in Ballet you have to use fast muscles and slow muscles, but for a delicate person, building slow muscles with Slow arm and leg movement sequences build strength and endurance.
Ballet is strong and beautiful, but delicate as well.
Are ballet dancers mostly strong and delicate?

They may LOOK delicate, but they have to be much stronger than many athletes! It is much harder than it looks, and it can be hard on all your joints. But it is soo beautiful!
The object for the women is to look graceful and the men strong. It is anything but a delicate form of dance. Ballet dancers have more injuries then football players.
You cannnot be delicate and dance ballet. Especially at a professional level. You dance with injuries and the girls dance en pointe with bloody toes and blisters. Not exactly delicate if you ask me!
You got to be tough as nails to be a ballet dancer.
Answer by stevel226Just looking at some ballerina’s on pointe you have to be a well conditioned athlete to do that. Male dancers are also in tip top shape. Very few people have the strength and stamina to be professional ballet dancers.Answer by DuranDoll
I don’t know what you mean by “slow” and “fast” muscles, but dancers are DEFINITELY strong. Most dancers you see weigh at least 15 lbs more than they seem because they are solid muscle. Dancers are also the best-trained athletes in the world–every movement is perfected, exercises are done equally on both sides of the body, and there are many intervals of strength and cardio movements.
I wouldn’t say ballet is a delicate form of exercise, because you have to be tough as hell to do it. The magic of it is that you have to seem like you are floating, and “la-di-da, this is the most easy thing in the world, I could stay suspended in this jump for hours.”Answer by handsomemanintights
ballet is NOT delicate. think of it this way: the more delicate something looks, the less delicate it actually is. ballet is probably the most grueling type of dance to train for. it makes you force the most out of absolutely every joint and muscle in your body and to push your body to do things it doesn’t naturally. most ballerinas are usually very strong and very delicate looking, but on the inside they are nothing like delicate thing.Answer by Karen Marks
it may lok like that but its not
there should be no knee pressure if you have good posture and use your turnout muscles
