Lenore Lune: In what ways in history and literature are religious books censored?
I’m doing an essay in English class about how religious books, such as the Bible and Koran, are censored in public places such as schools.
How in history and literature does it show that the Bible and Koran are censored?

Neither the bible nor the Qur’an are censored in public schools. Anybody who wants to, can read, study and possess one anywhere they like in public and in private. They can even be taught so long as they are taught as literature. The only restriction in the USA is that “religion” cannot be taught in a public school because the teaching of religion while using public money is a violation of Constitutional doctrine. The prohibition lies in the proper use of public funds and what should or should not be taught on the public dime. That’s not censorship that’s fiscal planning.
