German Shepherd Lover: im a first-time tattooer?
im 14 and getting a tattoo of a (very small) stitched up heart. its symbolizing my ability to heal after being raped. normally i would get a tattoo, but this is a meaningful and important cause. anyway, i had a few questions…
what does getting a tattoo feel like?(on my hip)
does it hurt very much? (im willing to deal with that pain for this)
and about how long does it take to heal if its on my right hip?
thanks =)

Your going to regret it when your old.
the top of my foot took 2 hours with all the detail in it, and that’s supposed to be one of the most painful spots…on a pain scale i give it a 8.
bring someone you can laugh with while it gets doneAnswer by Bambi ♥
That sounds like an amazing tattoo……..
Getting a tattoo feels different on everyone, some say it feel like a sharp tingly pain, some say its light little tingles…..it really depends were you get it done……Healing can take anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks…….it all depends on you skin.
Answer by d bau!i don’t have any tattoos myself, so i may be wrong, but according to all my friends that have them, the closer to the bone, the more painful it is. (on top of the foot, near ribs, etc.)
but i advise thinking about this for a couple months and if you still want it after that, and your parents will sign for it, i say go for it! you at least have a legit reason to get a tat.Answer by Brown Eyed Girl
Getting one feels like being scratched by a cat. At least for the first 30 seconds or so, then it sort of numbs down to a mild irritation. The thinner the skin, or the closer bone is to the surface the more it is going to hurt. After it is all healed tattoos (if done right) dont feel much different than regular skin, you may feel a very slight difference in texture. If your tattooist goes too deep, or if your skin is very thin, then there may be a bit of raised scar tissue.Answer by Desy Lynn B
Im going to get a tattoo soon and my cousin told me that if you do what the person who tattoos you says to do you will be fine. Remember to keep it clean and use what the person tells you so that it doesnt get infected. Make sure nothing isnt clean but it should be all in seperate packages. Go online to Tattoofinder. com and there is a section that says Tattoos 101 read through it, it helped me decide to get mine and i like the idea that will look cute!Answer by daddytattoo71
first off let me say im sorry for what happened to ya and i applaud you for moving on and showing how strong you are.. good for you anyways i have tons a tats so they get less and less painful but your initial beginning will hurt somewhat but its a cool pain and your skin around the tat will swell and eventually you wont feel a thing well i didnt anyways but you are getting it on your hip so it will be ok if you get close to your actually hip bone then there it might tickle or a slight hurt.. lol but you do what you gotta do right and hope all goes well and you are happy with your art and move on to a wonderful life take care and keep your head upAnswer by Drea
wow. That is a GREAT reason to get a tattoo. One’s with meaning, unrelated to a reletionship, are the best. I hope you use it to give you strength throughout life. But beware, they are addictive. It feels like you’re being poked again and again with skinny needles, and well, you are. It’s NOT intolerable, and definitly worth it. You get used to the pain, and kind of go numb to it. You still feel the needle, but it doesn’t hurt so much after a while. Mine also took two hours, but it’s a little bigger than a fist, on my lower back. The detail might take a lil while for yours, but the size won’t be too long. GO FOR IT!
OOOH- and mine took 2 weeks to heal, I just kept putting A&D ointment on it, and kept it covered. THey will explain what to do at the shop, and you’ll be just dandy.
Answer by mommabeari’m a first time tat myself. My 19mo old son died and I got his name on my left shoulder. It took a few minutes and did hurt, but nothing hurts worse than losing a child. I was told to put lotion on it and not to pick it. After it was done there was no more pain and it didn’t really scab or anything.Answer by lindy
If it’s right on your hip bone it’ll hurt a lot… so be prepared! Depending on how big it is it’ll probably take at least 20 minutes. It took mine about 2 or 3 weeks to heal completely but it doesn’t hurt afterward.Answer by leeshyxxo
well first off im sorry to hear that and so young.. =( but i dont kno about what the people said below me but i just got a tattoo on my left hip done today and they said it was going to hurt because there is a lot of nerves but honestly it only in some spots it was sore but just like any other place you would get tattoosd. it also depends on your pain tolerance and someimes youd be suprised at what you can tolerate… but if thats what you want just dont think about the pain think about the tatt after its done and your happy with it =) especially if it means a lot to you , you deff wont regret it .Answer by sjeffkins
Whenever I get tattooed it feels like a sunburn is being scratched with really sharp pointy nails.
