Luck: If Islam stopped slavery, then why did Arab Muslims have the most black slaves in history?
I always hear black people converting to Islam because Christianity is “a white man’s religion” and it allowed slavery. But why choose Islam since Arab Muslims had the most black slaves in history?

islam is not even a black persons religion either, blacks original religions were tribal beliefs

strange! and here I was thinking that it was the whites who colonized the Americas. compare the number of Africans in the western hemisphere with the ones in the Arab world.

Islam raised the status of slaves and ordered the believers to treat them like brothers. The Quran allows slaves to request their own freedom by paying a ransom.

“O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other. Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well-acquainted. (The Noble Quran, 49:13)”

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari: “The Prophet said, “Give food to the hungry, pay a visit to the sick and release (set free) the one in captivity (by paying his ransom).” (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Food, Meals, Volume 7, Book 65, Number 286)”

when Islam came it helped freeing the slaves not the opposite.

Islam does NOT = Arab

the first is a religion and the second is a race.

There are many Black Arabs

Well, Islam is an Arab’s religion then.

You are right; a lot of people don’t know it, but it was actually the Arabs, not the Europeans, who were the first to use African slaves.

Christianity has far more evidence to suggest that it is the true religion anyway.
