i think this may help u
Use Teamviewer, it`s free.However it needs to be installed on both computers and since a remote connection can be “hacked” you might need some sort of security measures in place before doing this (firewall+antivirus at least) and don`t use simple passwords.And you do need admin rights on both pc`s.And I must mention again a remote connection is a Big security risk.
But if you need just to transfer some files you could also use Skype, but at the receiving end someone must help you by accepting the file and save it somewhere( similar Skype must be present in both pc`s).And a network connection must be present.
For direct cable connection you will need to connect the 2 pc`s with a cable trough the serial or paralell port with a special type of cable, and a file manager like norton commander or totalcommander that permits these transfer(similar the file manager must be on both pc`s).
