JD: I want to give gifts to the less fortunate or at a hospital for kids. How do I go about doing that?
I currently am at the financial state where I want to start giving back. However, i physically want to give the gifts to the kids, does anyone participate in something like this? I would liek to go to an orphanage or a childrens hospital in the Ohio area.

Try this web site to directly help an individual:
Google “Toys for Tots.” It’s a program run by the U.S. Marine Corps to give toys to underprivileged children. Chances are they’re collecting in your area.Answer by wondering
what you want to do is really appreciable,my recommendation would be to contact some organisation which does stuff like this so that they could co-ordinate it for you and identify the places of need,in chicago we have chicago cares, dont know if there is something like that in ohio, good luckAnswer by mstdean518
Call the hospital administrator.Answer by bainaashanti
You can try contacting the United Way or local churches. Toys for Tots just collects the toys and they have them out, they don’t let you do it. You could also contact an orphanage or children’s hospital and ask if there is a group already helping them at Christmas; if so, get the contact info and join them, if not, why not organize something yourself? Good for you for wanting to make a difference!Answer by Respectful
What a wonderful idea! As your local Children’s Hospice if they will allow you to do that. Or an orphange that you know of. The way I started out was simply with a Box of Stickers and their email address! Now I’ve been going strong for 4 years now donating toys, books, games, puzzles, etc. to the children at a Hospice in England.
While I can’t physically be there to pass them out, I send them through the mail. And I while the postage is exuberant, I enjoy every minute of bringing some sunshine into their lives.
Good for you.
