Its got to be UKIP: How will a bank error effect my credit rating (UK)?
Ok, I applied for a credit card with my bank, I have a good credit score and was thoroughly confident I would get it, however an employee logged into my system and made a hash of my address and did not rectify it.
I got declined due to a “low credit score”, the branch were bemused as to how the address got changed, if you could see it, it is 2 addresses mangled into 1, my business address and street address, basically 2+2 = 5.
Experian are investigating it, the branch havent a clue how it happened as even if you wanted to changed address you need to provide proof.
Regardless of any human error/ system error I now have a linked address on my credit file!!
Experian are investigating it and that could take a while!
However Im going for vehicle finance and a business credit card, how is this linked address going to effect me,
EG,
I put my home address, 123 Greent Street and lived their 2 years, have a full credit history there, electoral roll etc.. however a linked address and a credit search made at 124 Green Street was made.
Will the potential lender flag this up, can I get a CIFAS for lying about addresses yet I have nothing to do with the address searched as a result of system error.
I havent slept all weekend please any advice.
I am in the UK and have Credit Expert and am constantly logged in. So I know how to check my credit file.
Any advice many thanks!!

It should be a simple fix if they just typed in the wrong address when checking your credit, just have them type in the right address to get you and viola, you are approved!
