peachy: How to say “live and love” in Irish Gaelic?
I would like to have “live and love” in some form right on my upper ribs, close to my heart (but not on my breast, obviously). I am very Irish and would love the phrase to be in Gaelic, though it doesn’t have to be.
Anyone know a good place to see pictures of the language or at least a translation? Thanks.

Answer by purpleprism2002I’m just searching online dictionaries, but here’s what I got:
mair = live
agus = and
go maire tú = may you live
bheith i ngrá le = love (verb)
so I’m thinking “go maire tú agus bheith i ngrá le”, although that’s kinda long for a tatoo. I can’t find a better “love” verb so far.
if you want “life and love” (nouns), apparently that’s “saol agus grá”.
or if you want the Claddagh phrase “Love, Loyalty, and Friendship” that’s “Grá, Dílseacht agus Cairdeas” (pronounced ‘graw, dealshocked ogis cordiss’).
