Mason: How to mountain bike up in the mountains?
What kind of bike should I need to bike up in the mountains in the snow? It would be mainly snow, dirt, and mud. How much would it cost? How old do you have to be? How fit should you be?

1st thing first you will need a good mountain bike brand,
Such as Trek.
too me trek is one of the best mountain bike companies and sometimes for pretty cheap.
Also biking in the mountains with snow, I would not add any unnesescary weight such as pegs. Mountain bikes are heavy enough as they are.
so i would look in the trek section.
Answer by mtrlbikerBrand is not important, gearing and correct tire selection for riding in the snow is what will help you ride in snowy conditions. Age is not a big factor, but conditioning is important, to ride well in difficult conditions you have to work hard to get into shape. As far as cost goes, you have to have enough money to buy a good bike, if you don’t know how much that costs, you have to start doing research on the type of bike you think you need.Answer by Cromwell
Buy a hard tail if you are gonna do a lot of climbing unless you’ve got a good budget for an adjustable full sus. Tires should be knobby and soft for better traction. try browsing through mtbr.com or bikeradar.com
