Jackie: How to keep my puppy from getting too overactive post-surgery?
So my 6 month old puppy got neutered earlier today. He’s getting home tomorrow morning, and according to the vet, we shouldn’t let him run or play too much when he gets home. My puppy’s a miniature Australian shepherd, so he loves to run and play. Are there any particular tips for letting him let off some steam without him hurting himself?

haha, good luck keeping a puppy calm. you have minimum options, but fortunately male dogs heal quick (a matter of days). just try being calm around him and make sure he doesnt lick at the incision. if he starts getting crazy, calm him down.

If you usually just let him run outside, just keep a leash on him for a few days and hand walk him. Do not play with him as this will excite him.
