I was wondering if there’s any good reputable sites that could help a teenager with dyslexia in school? Is there any exercise they can do to help?

she should have accommodations in the classroom
Answer by GeorgieThere is no quick fix to dyslexia, unfortunately it is a life long condition that the person learns to manage by learning how they best learn, and then implement strategies to help them, that is if they have been lucky enough to have a supportive teacher, family and friends.
Ideally the school should be putting the correct supports to support the student, including teachers aide, tutoring, access to computers and specialized computer programs. But to put these supports etc in, then the school must have documented evidence that the students had dyslexia, and any recommendations that make.
I can give you a number of strategies that help the student, which worked for my daughter and myself, and I now use on my students. Such as writing each paragraph on the board in different colours, this is especially helpful when students is to copy from the board, they don’t loose their place or repeat the same sentence. For spelling have a list of the most 100 commonly misspelt words,
& Spelling rules such as I before E except after C, & Homophones etc. If you would like more tips please email me. For newsletters & or class handouts should be font size 14 and Comic Sans, which is a easy to read font (I use this font for students tests).
Both my daughter and I are dyslexic.
