Jasmine C: How to get my husband to cut down the swearing?
I was wondering if anybody knows how to get there husbands to slow down on saying bad words. I have a 8 month old daughter, I know she is still to young to be able to understand it. But I dont want to raise her around that kind of language. I have talked to my husband about it..and he kinda trying.. When he plays games thats when he says bad words the most.

I don’t care if my husband swears, unless there are kids around then it’s an issue for me. I always just say “Watch your mouth in front of the kids!”
I think he got sick of me nagging him every time he swore in front of the kids, so he has basically stopped doing it. Sometimes he slips out and I just go “mouth!” and he apologizes.

1. Start using replacement words yourself “Oh Frick! This fricken lousy no good dog-gone nasty thing!!”
When he hears you say things like this, he’ll start to reprogram himself.
2. Swear jar actually does work.
3. When he corrects himself, as was stated before, give him something to eat, drink, a kiss, a squeeze…something to let him know you approve of him.

My wife is a retired nurse. Nurses historically have potty mouths. She used a lot of bad words. I was never in the habit of cursing. But when our first child’s first sentence was “Oh sh*t” when he spilled his milk, she cleaned up her language really fast.Answer by turt74
a friend of mine had this same problem, and someone told her to do the same. she started cussin’ up a storm, the hubby was shocked and disgusted. he realized how stupid it sounded and soon quit (mostly) this annoying habit. cussing has its place, but not in front of toddlers.
