How to convince my dad to get a dog?

Marrie D: How to convince my dad to get a dog?
Okay I am younger and i live with my parents and I am trying to convince my dad to let me have a dog. He wants one but he thinks it would take a way to some of the things we do. So any suggestions?

Sorry forgot to mention i have a cat that i take care of. So my dad knows I am responsible.

Start with a smaller pet like a turtle hamster guinea pig pet sitting for a freind or neighbor that should show him that your responsible

start with a smaller pet like a hamster or bunny. take good care of him and ask for a dog a year later!

Show your dad you can be responsible for a dog by doing more responsible things at home i.e. clean your room, load the dishwasher, sweep, offer to help mom or dad. Look on the computer for smaller,healthier dogs as they are easier to take with you if you travel, or get someone to keep for you while gone.When things are calm and the family is relaxing ask VERY politely if dad would please consider a dog and tell him about the dogs you have researched. Be serious about YOU caring for him. You will have to clean pee and poo, walk the dog or let it in the yard, feed it, make sure it has good shelter if it stays out and the area it stays in must be cleaned regularly.Above all else get it neutered or spayed. Dad would croak if you had a whole lot of little puppies running around. Good Luck

You do things like.
Clean your room and KEEP it clean.
Sweep the floor.
Do your homework on time.
Get good grades.
Don’t fight with your brothers and sisters.
Don’t talk back to adults.
Eat what your parents give you and don”t make any faces about it.
Remember to share.
Do research on taking care of a dog and what breed of dog you want.
Ask them nicely and don’t whine or beg when you talk about getting a new pet.
