: How can I add another tax form to my taxes that I already filed and the IRS has received?
I filed taxes already. I got a form from my old employer for tax purposes. Looks like I will get something back there for fed witholding too. How can I amend my taxes now that the IRS has received and accepted my return? I filed through Turbo Tax. Thanks.

1040X and don’t file so soon next time.
If this is a form 1099-R, you will probably owe.

You can amend your return. If you did your return with a tax preparer go back and tell them about the situation. The form to use is a 1040X
If you did your taxes yourself using a tax website, you can go back and amend it there (usually at no extra charge)
Answer by Aditi GYou will need to file an amended return in Form 1040X. its always better to file an amended one rather than missing to report an income because if IRS has that proof of income, then you might get into the trouble of an audit. Here is the complete information on how to fix a eturn & file an amended return.
