I’ve read that it’s immediate if you insert it the first day of your menstrual cycle. But other people have said to use a condom just in case.

What if I have sex right after I put it in for the first time? Is there a certain amount of time that I should wait before I have unprotected sex?

When beginning any medical form of birth control you should wait at least a week after beginning it to have unprotected sex. That is just for the first time/first month you use it. Next month you don’t have to wait at all after you reinsert it.

Well, that’s depends, different people have different feelings. Personally, I would like to wait, and use sex toys for instead.
