eliv3r: How should i care for my blood parrot?
I purchase a blood parrot yesterday, they are love heart and they are still juveniles.
Q’s:
1. Are they both girls, because they have pink gills?
2. What filter should i use?
3. How many times should i feed them? What kind of food?
4. Good tankmates? convict?
5. How many years to reach full size?
6. How to fertilize their eggs?
7. tips for taking care?
i need specific answers for my questions.

Hmm … don’t you think you should have researched all these questions and got them answered BEFORE you purchased them …
They are agressive and so far the only survivor is the sucker fish.
I have put bala sharks in with them,five! Next day all gone not a trace.
I feed mine frozen brine and blood worms, and minnows once a month now. Plus flake food.
Filter Penguin, Marineland one that filters the most gallons per second.
I have 10 and only 2 females. They lay their eggs and when they hatch they watch them for awhile and get bored / scared and start all over agin in a few months.
They can get to be 8″ plus in the right size tank.
