it depends on which studio you are teaching at
Dance teachers’ salaries vary according to the size and type of the dance school.
Many dance teachers are self-employed, running their own business or working freelance for several different schools. Income would vary depending on the amount of work.
Full-time teachers in state schools earn between £21,102 and £29,427 (£24,168 to £33,936 in inner London).

It depends on What kind of dance teacher you are wondering about. I teach ballroom and I average $ 6000 per month. I have more certification than most ballroom instructors. Also, nationally recognized competitors make more money than most, just coaching and teaching, in addition to the prize money they win. At a regular performing arts studio that teaches jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, etc; you will probably find teachers making between $ 35-$ 50 per hour. Unfortunately most studios are small and do not have enough classes going on to create a substantial living. At a studio with 2 teachers, the teachers will usually make more money because there are fewer classes to divide up. A larger studio will have more teachers, and usually charge more per class to support a larger staff.
