icantloose2006: How much information can an apartment manager ask for legally?
My apartment manager wants me and my roommate’s vehicle registration information to make copies and keep it on file. She says its because they have new parking rules in our apartment complex. Do I have any rights not to give that information?

Sure and they’ll have the right to have it towed if it is an unknown plate in their lot.
“Do I have any rights not to give that information?” – Sure and they have the right to not rent to you and to remove any unregistered vehicles from the property.Answer by CherylT
every arpartment place i have lived in just want to knwo what kind of car you drive so they can monitor the parking spaces. i have never had anybody ask for the registration, i would call local police department and check before just giving away your information.Answer by me111

if you want to park your car there then yes, it is their property they can do with it as they please. Why would you care if they had this, they could look it up by you tag and then send you a bill if that would be more convenient for you, just ask the fee is only around 100 for a MVR.Answer by Jade
They want your rego details so they can keep track of people parking in the carpark who shouldnt be there, as in non-tenants. You;re not obligated to tell them your rego details, but it may work against you.
