: How much does a tattoo on the back of your neck hurt?
I know everyone has a different tolerance of pain, and all tattoos hurt, but on a scale of 1-10 (one being no pain, ten being unbearable) how bad does a tattoo on the back of the neck hurt?

I have a tattoo on the back of my neck, foot, shoulder, and ribs and the neck probably hurt the least. Even though definatley everyone has a different pain tolerance seriously it just depends but if you want it deal with it. Besides it only hurts for th first like 20 minutes then you get pretty numb in a way.. It should be worth it in the end anyways :]
Have to agree with above! The neck was seriously the least painful! I think it does help that you can’t see it! 🙂Answer by James B
I’m not ceratin about the anatomy of the other posters, but I found that tattoo work done anywhere over the spine is definitely more painful than most areas of the body. The sides of the neck aren’t bad, but right over the nape — I sure felt it! I’d say it’s about a 7 (with the worst tattoo of all being an 8 — in the crux of my elbow).Answer by luckforlemmy
It’s always difficult to ask other people how much something hurts because of the difference in tolerance. Two people said that it was their least uncomfortable tattoo, but I agree with the last comment that said it was more painful. It was more painful than my hip tattoo, and I think it hurt more because I couldn’t see it. What made it less painful for me when I could see the tattoo getting done was I could see how close to finished we were. At the back of the neck, I couldn’t tell if any progress was being made, ha. I guess I’d say a 4 or a 5. Shrugs. Good luck!
