sweetgirl6398: How much does a puppy cost if I buy it in a adopting center?
I really need a puppy because I am so lonely because my parents wouldn’t let me have a puppy myself!

anywhere from $ 50-$ 500.
Young sometimes more expensive than old.
Purebred sometimes more expensive than mixed.
Some will be neutered, some will make you sign that you will have then neutered by a certain date- at your cost- the neutered one will be more expensive but save you money as you won’t have to pay for it.
Some will have shots, heartworm test, preventives, etc- and they will be more expensive- but again cheaper than getting a dog then paying for all that to be done at the vet.
I am also noticing dogs are more expensive in Canada then the US.
check petfinder.com, some may list adoption fees, if not you can call. Then you’ll get area-specific answers.
Answer by LisaYour parents won’t get you a dog? Then don’t get one. If you’re still living with them, it wouldn’t be fair to get a dog, since not everyone in the house is in agreement. If your parents own the house, they make the rules.
However, if you are now on your own, and can afford the shots, spay/neutering, good quality food, flea/tick prevention, and have the time, go ahead. Adoption fees vary from where you get the animal. Breed-specific or private rescues will have a higher adoption fee than, say, a city animal shelter, because although non-profit, city shelters are public-funded. Private shelters rely strictly on donations.
Again, it can be as low as $ 29, up to $ 250. Just depends. Look on petfinder.org, and if you find a dog you like, call the shelter and inquire about it.
Good Luck.
Answer by happybunny_pupDepending on where you go the prices can range from $ 30 to well over a hundered your saftest bet would be looking in a local SPCA ( if there is one in your area) or other animal shelter and ask before hand and make sure there isn’t any “hidden fees” that come along later..If you do have a SCA in your area the price is traditionally $ 65Answer by angiersps
sometimes you get a discount if you are a senior citizen. you have to show a lot if id to show your age and address and most of the time it is a donation.Answer by rottincherrie
How old are you? Or do you just mean, when you were a kid your parents wouldn’t let you get a dog?
Do not get a dog if you are lonely. This is the worst possible reason to get one–except maybe as a surprise gift. Make sure you will be able to pay for grooming bills, vet bills, premium pet food, bowls, leashes, collars, etc.
At an adoption center and in average breed rescue groups, the adoption fee is, give or take ten or so bucks, $ 150.
Answer by maxmomIf you live at home with your parents, a shelter will not give you a dog without their consent.
If you are on your own, it costs @60-100, depending on the dog and the shelter.
Answer by lebeez3Call your local shelter and find out the fee. Remember that you need money for vet expenses , as well.
