Pieter Holleman: How much can a restaurant owner make off of their restaurant in a year?
I love food and cooking, and am considering owning and running a restaurant as a possible career. How much money would a restaurant make me in a year if it were moderately priced (10-25 dollars per entree), had a good reputation, and was located in a tourist/resort town? I realize that there are a lot of variables that affect a restaurants profits, I’d just like your best guesses. Any feedback from someone who has experience in this business would be greatly appreciated.

Statistically, chances are you will be broke within five years.
That all depends on whether they have a liquor license or not. That’s where all the profits are.
