How long will my book be with 19077 words?

Sunayna: How long will my book be with 19077 words?
I can’t find any good sites to answer that. I’m self publishing my book and because it’s so short but aimed for an older audience (young adult), I formatted the book 14 size times new roman and spaced the lines 1.5. I’m planning my book to be 5.25 X 8.25. I don’t know how many words are on a page nor do I know how many pages that would be. Can I have some good answers?

Average word per page: 250. Try dividing 19077 by 250.

Hmm. Taking into account the font, spacing, and book size, it might be about… 60 pages long, give or take a few?

Answer by LK
If you used Times New Roman font size 12, double-spaced, then the average word count per page is 250. That is what most writers use.

Since you’re using Times New Roman 14, 1 and 1/2 spaced, the word count may remain about 250 but would be less rather than more per page.

If you use Word, suggest you look under “Tools” then “Other” for the “Readability Box.”
This “Box” tells you a percent re: how many sentences are passive-voice.
It also tells you what school-grade your writing fits.
In these two sections, the lower the better.
Readability is important for anyone at any age.
Last time I used the “Box” also tells how many words you have at that point.

The best way to reach a word count is by hand.
Count all words (don’t leave any out) until you reach fifty or one hundred.
Then use a ruler to measure the same areas to add them quickly.

Also suggest you find a book that measures the size you want to self-publish.
Do an average word count on an average page there too.
Compare.
You’ll find it’s not that hard to do.

Selling a book you self-publish (unless for it’s for friends and family) may be much more difficult.
Good luck (I mean it: Wish you the best).
PS. 19,077 words is two thousand words above the top limit for a novella: 17,500.
