Schere: How long does the Fiancee Visa process take from start to finish?
So my fiancee who lives in Chile and I want to get married. We’ve known each other for 5 years and have been together various times. I always go to Chile though.
Ive read all the things that need to be done. Proof that we know each other in person, documents we have to fill, etc etc.
But I have no clue how long this takes.
If my fiancee and I want to get married around January 2011, when should I start the process?

start the process now. You can’t really plan on a date because right now it’s about 8 months. But always keep in mind delays can make things worse. It all depends on how your case goes. File the papers correctly and that sort of a thing.
Good luck

8-10 months ..your mileage may vary
Answer by George Lsix months to a year is about right. plus, take into consideration the visa is usually good for 6 months after it’s been issued, and you have up to 90 days to get married after you arrive. If you want to get married in January though, you’d better file very quickly, and even then, it may not happen.
