Because no one really takes the Bible literally.
Do you see Christians stoning their children? Dashing their babies against rocks? No, you don’t – because it suits them to ignore that and claim they still take the Bible literally. And they do in part – the parts that reinforces their belief in God and gives them comfort. Pick and choose.
Answer by SammyI don’t think taking the bible literally makes you a good Christian at all.
The important thing is to be open-minded, take the bible metaphorical and accept other’s views, instead of putting it down….
Answer by Davewell, if you take the Bible literally and you try to follow it to the letter, than you aren’t trying to kill people…. the Quran on the other hand from what i’ve heard from ex-Islamic terrorists is that you would be trying to convert everyone and those who refuse to convert you would kill.Answer by Ramma
I think it has something to do with “death to infidels”. I’m not sure of the exact reading, but its something like that. I don’t think that is in the bible.Answer by G-unit

I would say that taking any so-called “Holy Book” literally makes you a fool.Answer by bruckcie
WOW ! Where do I start?…
If you read either one, and interpret literally, that doesn’t MAKE you anything.
If, on the other hand, you practice stoning people to death, killing of others (in the name of God), or any other such archaic practice — well then THAT’S different.
Both are books, written by humans, that religions were then based on.
All people — regardless of religious affiliation — should practice the Golden Rule:
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Then, and only then, can we FINALLY get past racism, terrorism, and HATE in general.
