Shann Meere: How do you stop sim families lives while playing another family?
When I play a family on the sims 3 the other families in the neighborhood continue to live their lives. They even have babies and get married when I don’t want them too. How do I stop that from happening? Its really annoying, I don’t care if the procreated sim families do that but not for the families that I create.

To play more than one family in the same neighbourhood you have to use the Edit Town button, not the ones on the Options Main Menu. You can switch between families but the ones you’re not playing will lose their current little wishes and will carry on their lives while you’re not playing them.

In the Options menu, there is an option to turn off Storylines. This should stop the other households from progessing while you are not playing them.

I’m not sure it works quite right. I haven’t tried it myself, but my mom did and then she went back to one of her houses to find that the elders had died and one of the people had a baby (but no wife…).

I think it’s one of those issues that will need to be addressed in a patch.
