Carianne: How do you “narrate” photos stored in a storage box?
I have hundreds of pictures that need to be stored, and I think I’d just have way too many albums if I went that route. I think a photo box(es) would be the best for space saving, but how do I record where I was, etc on them? Is my only option writing on the back of every picture? Or can I use tabbed notecards purchased at an office supply store – not “acid free”, I’m assuming… Thanks –

Ugh! What about arranging the pics by date and location, then marking them on the back, 1- 100. Take a separate sheet of paper and make comments on the paper like this:
Photo # Date Location Notes
Instead of a lot of writing on the back of the pic, you’ll just have a few short numbers. To avoid confusion, just go through numbers 1-100. When you run out of numbers, start labeling 1a-100a. When you run out of that sequence, go to 1b-100b and so on. All the way through the alphabet if you need to. Make sense? Put this paper at the beginning of the sequence of photos in a nice photo box. If you format it correctly, you may be able to permanently adhere it to the inside lid of the box.
Please go to an office supply store and ask for acid-free paper for this!
Don’t feel like writing that down? If you have a mike on your computer, record your thoughts on a cd. I’d still put it on paper, though.
Good luck.
