mailroom guy: how do i “transfer” my favorites or bookmarks from one ISP to another ISP on the same computer?
i would really appreciate this help a lot from anyone out there. i recently had to switch ISP providers because Time Warner took over for Adelphia. now i need to transfer my “bookmarks” or “favorites” over from Adelphia to Time Warner.
Adelphia is on Mozilla Firefox, and Time Warner is on Internet Explorer. any help would be greatly appreciated! THANKS PEOPLE!

Bookmarks and Favorites are just a folder on your PC. for your Web Browser. It doesn’t matter what ISP you use.
Just go to your C drive. Then Documents and Settings, then the your user Directory (what ever your log in is) then Favorites. Either copy that over to where ever. But you shouldn’t need to copy it. It should work fine no matter what ISP you have.

There is nothing, I mean absolutely nothing that you have to (unless and until you are changing the computer). Please note that the browsers (microsoft internet explorer, firefox, opera etc) are linked to your computer. Your ISP is nothing to do with it. All you need to do is to change your ISP start accessing everything in the same way that you have been doing all these days.
Please reach me on [email protected] or u can add me in yahoo messenger and i will be more than glad to assist you.

You can use any browser you want, you don’t have to change because you changed ISP’s but if you want to your favorites are in a folder, just drag them from that folder into the bookmark folder.Answer by Freddie R
Both Firefox and Explorer allow you to import and export your favorites. just click on Manage Bookmarks in either browser and you will fnd the option to import or export your favorites.
Remember that only the latest version (7.0+) of Explorer has the import/export feature. Save the file in a folder that you can back up to a CD. name the CD “Backup” and you will have a backup for your favorites/bookmarks. you can also save the file to a floppy disk. i have been doing this for years- works like a charm!
