GribboFSU: What is it in their throats that allows women to “turn on” the seductive sexiness in their voice?
I read in Palahniuk’s “Invisible Monsters” about a woman explaining to another on how to get men to do what they want by relaxing or using something (a gland maybe?) in their throats to make their voices sound pitifully helpless. I left my book at my parent’s house, or else I’d look it up. I’m just hoping someone has an idea of what I’m talking about. Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like a sort of sexual moan!
I am pretty sure that men can do it too. My husband can put on his sexy voice for me at any moment. But not when he is mad.Answer by Untamed Rose

I don’t really know. People compare my voice to Rachel Ray or Demi Moore all the time cuz it’s ‘throaty’, and men say they find it to be sexy, but it’s nothing that I consciously do—–I always thought it made me sound a bit masculine, but evidently not
